Title: Sour Milk Cake

Yield: 1 Cake

1 1/2cFlour, sifted
1cSugar
3tbBaking cocoa
1tsBaking soda
1/2tsSalt
1 Egg
1/4cButter (or margarine), melted
1cMilk, sour
1/4cHot water
1tbVanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt into mixing bowl. Add egg, butter, sour milk, hot water and vanilla. Beat (preferably with an electric mixer) at medium speed for 2 minutes.

Pour batter into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes or until it tests done (a toothpick or fork comes out clean). Cool in pan.

NOTES:

* Aunt Georgie's chocolate cake -- Don't cry over sour milk; make a chocolate cake out of it. This cake is from the "Farm Journal's Choice Chocolate Recipes" cookbook, and was originally posted to net.cooks by kathyd@azure. It is moist and rich and does not need frosting Mint chocolate ice cream and a slab of this cake makes an outrageous dessert.

* To sour sweet milk, place about 1 T vinegar in a measuring cup and add enough milk to make about 1 cup.
